Livelihood

O.K. I feel a bit better now that I have had 24 hours form recovering to having a great time for once. This weekend was the third annual reunion of the college friends/roommates. Since graduating in 2002, the six of us try to make an effort to set aside a few days in the summer at someone’s city and paint it red. So, if you’ve seen D.C. lately, that shade of crimson was all us.

And speaking of red, that’s the color of the lower half of my body. As a person that practices an unhealthy lifestyle (low on exercise, high on junk food), the 20+ miles of walking throughout the city was a bit of a shock. My feet are not very happy with me. I’m just amazed that Shannon was able to walk everywhere in flip-flops. My Sketchers were killing me.

Besides stops at the Botancial Gardens, the Eastern Market and The Hotel Helix (thanks, Allison), the highlight was seeing how much we’ve grown up in three years. Now, there’s a lawyer, a copy editor, a mother, a paralegal, an artist and a Ph.d. candidate in one room.

Throughout the week, I will upload some photos and a travel page with shots from the reunion. Thanks Shannon and Erin for hosting this.
