VCR cancellation
My taste for television shows wildly varies, so I trust my VCR (yes, I still use that) to determine what I watch this fall season. Given that it has been three weeks with the new season and the already changing time slots for them, here is what I’m watching:
Sunday
It was Everybody Hates Chris, but then the CWBUPN changed its day to Monday. Due to my busy Monday viewing times and my VCR’s ability to only record on SP, it’s canceled on my set. So now, my Sundays are vacant because The Simpsons is not even worth the tape space.
Monday
Before this season, I didn’t flip to NBC unless a “Law & Order” hybrid was on, but now I watch Heroes and for no reason Studio 60. I like the storytelling on “Heroes” and it reminds me of the first season of “Lost,” but I still wonder why I waste my time watching “Studio 60” because it’s not even entertaining or funny. And if they make another “Saturday Night Live” reference as being the best thing on TV, I’m dropping it.
Tuesday
Despite some complaints by others, this is shaping into a good season of Gilmore Girls. I just started watching the repeats on ABC Family and I’m close to being caught up. The second half is spent with “Law & Order: SVU.”
Wednesday
I’m still watching Lost despite last week’s five-minutes-of-good-20-minutes-of-bad-35-minutes-of-commercials premiere. The Nin9 is not that great, either.
Thursday
It’s one of my weekend days, so the VCR is put to rest. I am trying to watch Smallville, but I’m not a big fan of this season. I flip to Ugly Betty and The Office sometimes.
Friday
Nothing. There’s nothing to watch, but don’t try to convince me.
Saturday
It’s back to work for me, and the networks go to sleep.
What I do like is having the chance to watch some of the shows online in case I don’t remember to set the VCR.
