The college flashback
I was packing my old college backpack last night in preparation for today’s trek to the Farmers Market and a local coffee shop when I came across this button in one of the pockets. I remember receiving this button during my freshman year and the kind individual whose name is on it. It’s funny because Faith Glavey wasn’t running for any college office or anything like that. She just had these buttons with her name on it. She lived on the same floor as I did that year and I would run into her on campus in the years that followed.
So I placed it back on the front of my bag like I did back in the day.
That triggered a Google search and now slightly nine years after receiving this button, Faith is now married, a mom to a 1-year-old boy, and a graduate student in philosophy at St. Louis University. She doesn’t have a fully operating Web site yet, but “her husband”: http://timpawl.googlepages.com/home does. It includes photos of herself and her son, too.
So, Faith, if you ever feel the need to Google your name anytime, click on this entry and send me a line.
