What happens where you unpack

It’s been a year since I opened some of the boxes that are consuming space in my bedroom and home office. Here are a few discoveries I’ve made seen unpacking:

  1. I finally found the missing Fiona Apple CD I had been searching for. Unfortunately, I already bought the replacement. Now, I have only one. Plus, I found the Gnarls Barkley and Scarlett Johasson discs.
  2. I discovered my old photo albums. I haven’t brought them out apparently since my trip to New England. I am now squaring away the photos I liked most since then and I’m sending them to CVS tonight.
  3. My original Magnetic Poetry kit. I can know have better verses for my magnetic calendar.
  1. All my little jewelry holders and boxes. Now I have no excuse for losing anything.
With these new discoveries, I have carved out a spot in my bedroom for a reading nook. I’ve unpacked all my books and loaded them onto bookcases and storage cases. I purchased a cheap chair and table and unpacked a lamp I hadn’t used recently, and now I have a quiet place away from a computer and television to exercise my mind.

Emma

I always buy the replacement tweezers right before I find the ones I have lost… but that’s not as expensive to replace as a Fiona Apple CD.

Faith

Tamara, Hello! My husband googled me tonight and came across your site. I tried to comment on the post about the Faith button, but that was no longer a live option. Those buttons were perhaps the strangest gift I’ve ever received. My brother and now-sister-in-law showed up at Wake for our graduation with 100 of those puppies in hand (inexplicable, as I’ve never had any political ambition). I feel kind of sheepish about those things floating around, but that’s neat that you sport yours at the farmers’ market—thanks! Anyways, your site looks great, and it would be cool hear what you’re up to via email. I can catch you up on me, but I’ll do that via email b/c I’m a little blog shy. All the best.-Faith
