    The fatal touch

This week, and it’s only Thursday, I have killed three computers and an Xbox, had a small kitchen fire and escaped two aggressive panhandlers. I’m lucky to be alive.

    Very quick update

The redesign is here! The redesign is here! I just have to work on Cartophobic and I won’t have to design for a while. Except at my job.

    Testing this out

This is my second attempt of posting this message. I upgraded and redesigned my site, but I’m having a few problems with some of the Textpattern taglines. I have added more features (there are reviews now) and have finally linked my best friend’s wedding to the travel section. It’s amazing how much I don’t remember about designing a Web site after a few months. My last redesign was in February. That’s almost a lifetime on my watch.

I know that comments can’t be left yet, and I’m supposed to have done a meme at some point, probably tomorrow. In the meantime, the comment fields don’t work.

    A short break

Yeah, I haven’t updated in over a week, but I have some heavy life decisions I need to make for the moment. I’m refreshing my spelling skills as I type this and I’m planning out how I want to live for the next five years. Plus, I’m toning and configuring snapshots from my best friend’s wedding. For all I know, I could have this all figured out by tomorrow, but then again, I could make up my mind by the end of August. In the meantime, I’m taking a temporary break. It doesn’t mean that I will stop blogging for a long time. I could just have one ready on Friday.

    'Tis the season

Merry Christmas, everyone! I hope everyone has been good this year, and that you don’t have to warm up your house with the coal you collected.

    Making a list

For a while, I have been thinking about sending out Christmas cards to people who follow this blog. I can’t imagine people wanting one from me as I am just a bunch of words on a screen, not a daughter, a cousin, a grandchild or a former roommates to most of you.

However, if you would like a card, e-mail me your address. I promise not to visit you or submit your address to Amway. Instead, I’ll send you a card from Target’s last season’s selection.

    Cotton

It’s this site’s second anniversary. For the anniversary I had planned to give it a scarf (the traditional second anniversary gift), and a redesign. However, due to a very depressing week I have had, I haven’t had the motivation to do so. Besides, quite often a redesign doesn’t move me to write more entries. It doesn’t even get me to look at the site more often.

Once this depression leaves me, I’ll be back as my more-chatty-bloggy self again.

    And another thing

Last week, I uploaded my photos from the annual college reunion. I already posted the photos taken from the swings near the Scales Fine Arts Center at Wake Forest University of all five of us. The rest were taken at Reynolda Gardens, a sentimental part of Winston-Salem that has special meaning to all of us.

    Question and answer

    Hello, how are you today?

    Lego

The redesign is done. It was taking longer than what I had expected, but I have finally added features or brought back the old stuff that really helped the site.

First, I finally have working archives. Textpattern can be complicated, but I’m learning as I design. Now, there are links to each category and the archives are classified according to date posted.

Second, I’m using Gallery to sort my art and travel sections. The Store Windows series is so easy to update now with the Gallery pages. Before, I would reconstruct most of the pages, but now I have a tool that will sort everything for me. I need to personalize it more, but that part is as close to finish as I will get this week.

Third, while breaking in the Gallery, I have added photos from my high school reunion/ATL trip in the Travel section. In the coming weeks, I hope to add more from the Atlanta portion.

Lastly, I have updated my links. There is room for more if you have any suggestions.

P.S. Does this site look all right in IE? I’ve tested on two computers (Mac and PC) and it shows up on the Mac but not on my home PC. Let me now if this is a problem for you.
