"The Orphanage (El Orfanato)"

The Orphanage
Those crazy Spaniards! Always trying to scary me with the crazy, creep children’s tales that make me afraid to go into a cellar.

When Laura, herself an orphan, returns to the children’s home she loved to create a new home for special needs kids, her son meets an imaginary friend who is part of her past.

On the surface, “El Orfanato” has elements of “The Others” and of “Pan’s Labyrinth” in that it centers around children’s imaginary world that are forms of reality.

For more than two-thirds of the movie, you can basically figure out what happens. However, the ending was a nice twist, one that reduced me to tears.

For that, it was enjoyable.
